mHandset

1. Overview

mHandset is the catalog for the phones that are still in the Platforms menu and that many catalogs have dropped: Java, KaiOS, and a simple Android phone. The same operator can keep offering smartphones, tablets, and the living-room screens on their own pages.

Content2Mobile remains the path for moving a piece onto a handset. Revizora remains the look at an older title: what the source is, and what would have to be rebuilt. mHandset is the offer of the handsets themselves, limited to titles that already run on them.

A title with no Java build is not described as a Java title. A television app is not described as something a keypad phone will run. This is a pilot we shape with you.

2. What the work includes

The list that runs

Titles from this catalog that already run on Java, on KaiOS, or on a small Android phone. The handset is named. A title is not moved onto a handset it has not been tried on.

The list that does not

Titles you asked about that have no build for that handset. The gap is written down, so a missing build is not filled with a promise.

The lighter file

Where the source allows it, a smaller file for a slow network. Where the source does not allow it, we say so.

What you receive

• The handset type the list is for.
• The titles that already run, and the titles that do not.
• The screens we could open on that handset.
• The smartphone, tablet, and television pages, left as they are, for the screens that are not this handset.

3. Questions we are asked

Who is it for?

Operators whose subscribers still use a keypad phone, a KaiOS phone, or a small Android phone, and who want that catalog named beside the smartphone offer.

Will every game run on Java?

No. Java, KaiOS, and a simple Android phone are different machines. A title is offered on a handset only when a build for that handset exists and has been opened.

What do you need from us?

• The handset you still support.
• The country.
• Whether you also want the smartphone shelf beside it.

4. A pilot

One operator. One handset type. A short list of titles that already exist for it. You can stop there.

There is no public price list. To discuss a pilot, email [email protected] and put mHandset in the subject, or use the contact page.
